FIA did not accept applications by hand or courier in 2026. Everything was online. Here is how the process worked:
- Open the official portal. In 2026 this was the NPF Testing and Assessment Service portal, www.npftas.pk. Always confirm the portal name from the official advertisement or fia.gov.pk/careers.
- Create your profile. Use your own CNIC, mobile number and email.
- Choose the post. If you want to apply for two posts, you must submit two separate applications.
- Fill in your details. Education, domicile, quota and experience. Double-check spellings against your CNIC and certificates.
- Upload documents. Clear scans of your CNIC, photo, educational certificates and domicile.
- Pay the fee. Rs2,000 per post, non-refundable, using the 24-digit PSID through 1Link 1Bill. You can pay through a bank, ATM, internet banking, Easypaisa, JazzCash or UPaisa.

FIA Officer Jobs Through FPSC (August 2026)
FIA’s higher posts are not filled through NPF. They are advertised by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). In August 2026, FPSC’s Consolidated Advertisement No. 3/2026 included these FIA posts:

Before you apply, always read the official advertisement yourself. It lists the exact age limit, education, height and chest standards, quota seats per province, and the portal address. You can find it:

- in national newspapers (Jang, Express, Dawn) on the day the ad is released;
- on fpsc.gov.pk for BS-16 and above.
Compare any ad you see on Facebook or WhatsApp with the official version. Fake ads often change the fee, the account number or the portal link.
Eligibility for FIA Jobs
Education
Requirements depend on the post. They range from primary and matriculation (for drivers and constables) to intermediate and a bachelor’s degree for higher posts such as Sub-Inspector and Assistant. Clerical and stenotypist posts also need typing or shorthand speed, and driver posts need a valid driving licence.
Age
Age limits are set post by post in the official advertisement. The government’s general age relaxation of up to 5 years applied in 2026. Always read the exact limit for your post in the official ad before paying the fee.
Physical and endurance test
Candidates for Sub-Inspector, ASI, Constable and Constable Driver had to pass:
- height and chest measurement, according to the standards in the advertisement;
- a 1-mile (1.6 km) run: within 7 minutes for men and 10 minutes for women.
There was no relaxation in physical standards or the run. Only those who passed went on to the written test.

For the CBT, the official syllabus is shared by the testing service. Start with past papers, newspapers, and basic maths every day for a month.
30-day FIA test preparation plan
- Week 1: English grammar and vocabulary, 30 minutes of basic maths every day.
- Week 2: Pakistan affairs and Islamic studies. Read one newspaper daily for current affairs.
- Week 3: General knowledge, everyday science, and basic computer and cybercrime terms (FIA handles financial and immigration crime).
- Week 4: Timed past papers every day. Review your mistakes the same evening.
- Every morning: running practice if you are applying for a uniformed post. Build up to a mile well under the limit.
How long does FIA recruitment take?
From the last date to final merit lists, federal police-style recruitment usually takes several months because of physical tests, the CBT, interviews, medicals and verification. Keep your mobile number and email active, and check the testing service portal regularly for roll number slips and results.
Selected Assistants, UDCs and LDCs were also required to complete IT training through the National Information Technology Board (NITB) before their probation ended.
