BISP has moved most beneficiaries to digital payments:
- Digital wallets: BISP says about 9.7 million Digital Social Protection Wallets have been opened, and payments are credited to them. You get an SMS when money arrives.
- Bank accounts: around 10 million women have been given individual accounts with partner banks.
- Any agent of a partner bank: from 2026 BISP said beneficiaries could withdraw from any authorised agent of its seven partner banks, instead of one fixed agent.

8171 Web Portal Registration: How to Join BISP
You cannot register for BISP on the 8171 website. Registration happens through the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) survey, at a BISP tehsil office. In general:
- Visit your nearest BISP tehsil office with the original CNIC of the woman of the house.
- Bring CNICs of adult family members and B-forms of children.
- Complete the NSER survey (also called dynamic registration).
- Your household gets a poverty score. If it is within the cut-off, you are enrolled.
- Check your status on 8171 after a few weeks.
